Facial aesthetics are a range of non-surgical treatments that are now available at Swords Dental Facial aesthetics soften expression lines on a temporary basis. With in-depth anatomical knowledge of the face and neck, dentists are ideally placed to offer facial aesthetics.
Anti-wrinkle injections
If you have wrinkles, worry lines, laughter lines or crows’ feet and you would like to “do something about them” but don’t want to have surgery, anti-wrinkle injections are a great option for you. Anti-wrinkle injections are growing in popularity because of their non-invasive nature.
At Swords Dental, we use Botulinum toxin for our anti-wrinkle injections. Botox is suitable for most people, but should be avoided to people who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The process:
The process is relatively painless. The treatment takes about 15 minutes and a local anaesthetic is applied to the injection sites on your face. Because of the low levels of Botox, anti-wrinkle injections are very safe. The treatment can last up to 4 months and there is no downtime after the injections.

Lip Fillers
Some people are simply not happy with their lips as they feel they are too thin. If you would like fuller lips, to help you feel more confident and attractive, then lip fillers are the ideal solution. Lip fillers work by adding volume to lips that have become wrinkled or thin. They help to restore a smooth appearance to the skin and volume to the lips.
The process:
20 minutes before treatment takes place, a prescription anaesthetic cream is applied to the injection sites. There is no recovery time and most people don’t experience any side effects. While the treatment typically lasts about 30 minutes, the results are immediate. Depending on the person, the effects can last between nine and twelve months.

At Swords Dental our Facial Aesthetics treatments are provided by Dr. Karolina Zimniak.
Dr. Zimniak graduated from Medical University in Lodz, Poland in 2004 and has been working in Ireland since 2008. During the course of her studies. Karolina was awarded a scholarship for outstanding learning achievements. She became a Member of the Faculty of Dentistry in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 2015.
She is extremely committed to post-graduate education and is continuously attending courses to enable her to deliver the highest standard of dental care to her patients. She likes to keep abreast of the latest techniques, materials and clinical protocols in dentistry. She completed a 3 series Master programme in fixed prosthodontics with Dr. Mauro Fradeani in 2016 in ACE Institute in Italy. Karolina particularly enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a strong emphasis and keen eye on restorative and aesthetic dentistry. She also has a strong interest in facial treatments and has great experience in providing Botox injections and fillers as part of anti-ageing treatment. Apart from dentistry, she is keen on sports: fitness, skiing, hiking, and sightseeing.
