If you or a child has one of their front adult teeth knocked out, don’t panic- we can try to save it.
Find it and pick it up by the crown (the white part). Avoid touching the root. Check that its in one piece.
If its dirty, wash it briefly (10 seconds) under cold running water and reposition it in its space in the mouth. Bite on a tissue to hold it in position.
If this is not possible, place the tooth in a glass of milk. The tooth can also be kept in the mouth, between the molars and the inside of the cheek. If the person is very young, they could swallow it, so use the milk option. Avoid storage in water!
